We do not have any adult tricycles or bikes with training wheels for adults that may be less confident in their riding ability. Please let us know if you would like one of our tandems, trailers, baby seats, or child bikes in advance that you'd like to reserve either a child seat or trailer.

Important Note: All child bikes use hand brakes, there are no pedal brakes available.

    NEW ORLEANS BIKE TOUR

Your bike tour begins at our Fat Tire Tours office, located at 214 Decatur Street, New Orleans, LA 70130. We're located in the French Quarter directly across from the House of Blues.

Your tour will start promptly at the scheduled time, therefore please arrive 15 minutes prior to tour departure time.

    HONEY ISLAND SWAMP TOUR

This tour meets at 941 Decatur St., New Orleans, LA, 70116. Look for the gold Joan of Arc statue.

We ask that guests arrive 20 minutes prior to tour time in order to ensure a timely departure.

  • Expand/Collapse What is your weather policy?

All tours operate rain or shine. We encourage guests to consult the weather forecast, and dress accordingly. For our bike tours, we have rain ponchos available in our office for use should unexpected rain develop.

New Orleans can be very hot and humid, especially in the summer months. We recommend wearing breathable fabrics, a hat, sunglasses, and SPF. In the colder months, we recommend wearing layers.

  • Expand/Collapse Are snacks at the Cafe Du Monde included in the tour price?

Cost is not included with the price of the tour. Please bring cash if you would like to purchase anything, the café does not accept credit cards.

The café serves classic New Orleans fare including café au lait and beignets among other treats.

  • Expand/Collapse Is a helmet included on the bike tour? Do I have to wear a helmet?

Yes, helmets are provided and we require all riders to wear helmets on our tours.

Your safety is top priority for us and studies have shown that helmets can reduce head injuries by at least 85%.

  • Expand/Collapse Do we ride bikes in the streets or on sidewalks?

We are on city streets for the majority of the tour.

Our route takes advantage of streets with bike lanes as much as possible but there are times we will need to share the road with other vehicles. For this reason we recommend that all riders are confident enough with their biking skills that traffic will not be a problem. Also younger riders must have enough skill to follow in a single file line behind the guide so they are not in danger of veering into traffic.

  • Expand/Collapse Does the bike tour go inside the museums and monuments?

Unfortunately, 3.5 hours does not give us enough time to enter any of the sites that we see. Our tours are designed to enjoy the city from a broad perspective, so that's what we're going to do!

  • Expand/Collapse What is your cancellation policy?

We are happy to offer full refunds if the reservation is cancelled more than 72 hours (3 days) before the scheduled tour. We do not offer refunds for any reason once we are within the 72 hours of the scheduled tour.

  • Expand/Collapse Am I allowed to take pictures during the tours?

    Absolutely!
