On this story-packed tour you will unlock the secrets of Paris’ historical origins and explore the city’s most visited monument, Notre Dame Cathedral. Île de la Cité, the central island of Paris, is where the history of this great city begins.
On this two-hour leisurely walk, you will learn about the myriad of sites the island has to offer, including Sainte Chapelle, the Memorial of the Deported, the Conciergerie, Palais de Justice and Pont Neuf. Then, from peasants to emperors to hunchbacks, we will delve into the rich history of the interior and exterior of Notre Dame de Paris and find out why over 13 million people come to see her every year.
This tour meets at the equestrian statue of Henry IV on the Pont Neuf Bridge at the western end of the island of Ile de la Cité. The closest métro station is Pont Neuf (line 7). Upon exiting the station you will be on the Pont Neuf bridge; continue straight across the river and you’ll see a Statue of Henry IV on a horse on your right. Your guide will meet you at that statue.
