Discontinued: VIP Skip-the-Line Colosseum Tour with Special Access to Top Tiers, Roman Forum & Palatine Hill

We're sorry, this activity is no longer available.

On this special access Colosseum tour, you’ll enjoy a fully guided skip-the-line visit of the Colosseum with an expert, local guide. We'll go behind the scenes into the newly opened and exclusive 3rd, 4th, and 5th tiers. From here, you'll gain a unique higher perspective on the architecture and jaw-dropping views over Rome.

We begin by skipping the long entrance lines into the Colosseum with privileged entrance tickets. You’ll hear the entire story of how and why the titanic arena was built and the truth about what went on inside.

Leaving the general access area behind, you’ll pass through closed gates and head up into the 3rd, 4th, and 5th tiers. You’ll get successively better views of the Colosseum until it seems to stretch beneath in its entirety.

Next, we'll head out into the Roman Forum, which was the civic and commercial center of the entire Western world, to immerse yourself in the daily life of one of history’s greatest empires. Today, it looks more like a jumble of ruins, but your guide will bring it to life with stories and anecdotes about the various monuments, temples, and buildings you encounter.

Finally, you’ll climb to the top of the Palatine Hill for views over the Roman Forum as we walk among the ruins of ancient villas.

The Colosseum and Roman Forum cannot be missed, and it's the history and stories that will bring it to life. This tour is the best way to maximize your time in Rome with priority entrance tickets and special access to the newly renovated top tiers.

    • Please note that the tour meeting time is 15 minutes prior to the start time. No refunds or re‐bookings can be provided for late arrivals or no shows after tour commencement or departure.
    • Please ensure that all members of your party have a valid ID on them on the day of the visit.
    • The Colosseum has changed its admission policy to ensure that only 3,000 people are allowed within the amphitheater at any given time, meaning much less crowding during busy periods. Although our tickets are pre-booked with Skip the Line access, this may mean a slight delay on entering if capacity has already been reached. We expect that the instances of this will be limited but ask for your patience if you travel on a busy day and are affected by this unavoidable circumstance. In all, it should make for a much nicer experience for all (and longer general access lines!).
    • All guests need to pass through a security check before entering the Colosseum. Please note that only small backpacks and regular-size handbags are allowed inside. Since there are no storage facilities, guests with larger bags will be denied entrance. Do not bring any sharp objects such as knives, or large bulky items such as big umbrellas. The Colosseum and Roman Forum are ancient sites that are neither wheelchair nor stroller friendly.
    • Comfortable walking shoes recommended.
    • In the summer months, please prepare for the heat by bringing/wearing adequate sun protection, and staying hydrated. Even if you are accustomed to high temperatures, air-conditioning is not always available in Italy.
