The Best Vintage Shops in Berlin

With winter set to stick around for a while, we will be supplying all you vintage-lovers with our favourite treasure-trove shops by district.

Berlin and Vintage are pretty tight and unlike in some metropolitan cities you can still find reasonably priced items, if not crazy cheap. All these shops are within walking distance from one another. Get yourself a double espresso and go diving!

Made in Berlin

Where: Neue Schönhauser.19 (U-Bahn Weinmeister Strasse)

This is one of the most popular and established second-hand shops in Berlin. It is extremely well organised, by decade and by colour. With everything ranging from fur coats (although I wouldn’t suggest wearing that on the streets of Berlin lest you want someone to throw paint at you), college jumpers and tracksuits, sequined dresses and an incredible collection of leather boots.

They are constantly restocking the shelves, so if you are in the city for more than a couple of days and don’t find anything the first time, you might on your second try. They have a ridiculously cute dog asleep in a vintage suitcase near the counter, just to make the place even more enjoyable.

Humana

Where: Alexander Strasse.7 (S and U Bahn Alexanderplatz)

Humana is humongous, so if you are in the right mood you will be leaving with some gems. Due to the enormity of the place, you are gonna have to sift through to find them though, so prepare yourself. Know what you are looking for. This is a great place if you need second-hand Dirndls or Lederhosen, certainly cheaper than buying them new and always genuinely old, ergo amazing quality.

This shop has just one huge floor, but you can go a couple of train stops into the east (Frankfurter Allee U-Bahn) and there you will find the Humana Kaufhaus, essentially the same but in an old department store, so an extra 5 floors worth of burrowing to be had. They have an entire floor dedicated to real vintage, meaning they have done the hard work for you and put all the good stuff in one area.

Class of Berlin

Where: Grosse Hamburger Strasse.19a (S-Bahn Hackescher Markt)

This shop is actually located in one of the oldest parts of the city, right slap bang in the middle of the old Jewish Quarter. In fact it is right across from the Old Jewish Cemetery which dates back to the 1600s. They focus on the rockabilly/sailor jerry vibe, offering vintage and vintage-style clothing. They claim to have the largest selection of fashion from the 30s-60s in the whole city. So if those are your decades, get yourself there! They also have a classic rock-n-roll barber on site to really complete the look.
