Beer and bachelor parties go hand in hand, so it makes sense that planning a bachelor party in Munich would be an ideal experience to celebrate upcoming nuptials. In Bavaria’s capital of Munich, you’ll not only find gorgeous, fairytale-looking buildings but also some of the grandest and biggest beer halls in the world, like Hofbräuhaus, which has been around since the 1500s!

If you’re planning your own or a loved one’s bachelor party and you’ve got your eyes set on doing so in Munich, Germany, read on for our top tips to make this an excellent experience for you and your crew.

Consider Going in September or October

You may have heard of a little thing called Oktoberfest, the world’s largest beer and folk festival, which takes place each autumn. Despite what the name suggests, Oktoberfest doesn’t only occur in October, it also runs through September as well. This is a very fun event, especially with a large group, like a bachelor party. This year, Oktoberfest 2024 runs from September 21 through October 6.

Fat Tire Tours Munich offers its bestselling Oktoberfest Festival Tour which is the perfect way to experience all the Oktoberfest happenings and with a trusty guide in tow to show you around the festival. The tour includes transportation to the festival grounds, reserved beer tent entry (and skipping the long lines!), and vouchers for two large beers and food. Tip: Bring cash if you wish to purchase more beer, as some beer halls may not accept credit cards!

Buy Some Lederhosen

Lederhosen feels like a “must” in Munich, and even more so if you’ll be there during Oktoberfest festivities! Lederhosen refers to traditional leather shorts worn in Bavaria, and you’ll see them everywhere during Oktoberfest. For tips on this clothing plight, check out our article on Where to Shop for German Clothes in Munich. And be advised: If you want the most authentic-looking lederhosen, they will cost you. You can also find lower-priced lederhosen online and in shops.

Tour the City as a Group

Experience the fun and beauty of Munich beyond its beer culture by checking out the city on a bike tour! Our Munich Night Bike Tour is a fantastic way to see the city, and the nighttime tour lends itself to feeling even more celebratory and raucous––the kind of energy expected for a Bachelor Party.

Highlights of this tour include the Opera House, a stop at a local beer garden, visiting the Michael Jackson Shrine (yes), exploring the Lehel neighborhood, St. Michael’s church, and much more.

Scope Out Other Fun Activities: Ziplines, Archery Tag, Rafting, and More

What’s a bachelor party without some fun action? Munich offers a wide range of activities that are ideal for a bachelor party. You might want to check out ziplining in Munich, where, at the height of 40 meters, you will soar through the air across the length of Olympic Stadium. This is an adrenaline-rush-inducing activity and not for the faint of heart! Ziplining at Olympic Park is a very memorable activity, and perfect for a group of thrill-seekers.

The Munich area also offers a big range of activities, including things like archery tag, rafting, and more. The Munich world is your oyster!

Get Outside of the City & Visit a German Castle

Bavaria is home to some stunning castles, and I’d be remiss not to mention them. Let the groom-to-be feel like an actual king by visiting and touring some of Germany’s most stunning castles. Most of them are an easy train ride outside of the city.

And no matter how much fun you’re having on your bachelor party in Munich, it’s a good idea to go a bit farther afield––if you and your group have time––so you can explore some of the country’s mind-blowingly beautiful castles. For more tips on top castles, check out our article, 6 Stunning Castles to Visit Near Munich. Another fun excursion outside of Munich is taking the train to nearby Salzburg, Austria.

Pick a Centrally Located Hotel

Munich is an excellent city for walking and cycling, so choosing a centrally located hotel can make the world of a difference, and cut down on commuting time, allowing you and your group to maximize your fun-having time.

Munich has over 80,000 beds for guests and even more beyond the central area. Note that if you plan to visit Munich during Oktoberfest for a bachelor party, you’ll want to make your hotel or Airbnb reservation early. Things fill up quickly during this festive time! So, be sure to sort your accommodation earlier rather than later to have the best selection of options.

Hotels that are centrally located near the Oktoberfest happenings include Hotel Seibel, Munich Deluxe Hotel, Bavaria Boutique Hotel, Four Points by Sheraton, and more.
