People riding bikes in Hyde Park in London

Taylor Swift may be singing about “So Long, London,” on her record-breaking new double album, The Tortured Poets Departments, but we at Fat Tire Tours are saying “Hello, London!” and breaking down the best restaurants to enjoy when traveling with a big group in the Big Smoke!

Speaking of pop music queen Taylor – if you’re planning to see her in Paris, check out our blog article, Guide to Seeing Taylor Swift in Concert in Paris in May 2024!)

While Taylor may have metaphorically left London behind, we’re very much still here for London, and all the incredible delights this historic city has to offer. London has such a rich history, ripe for exploring––particularly with large groups!

London Restaurants to Enjoy with Your Group

After all that touring and biking, you’re bound to be a bit famished. Here are some great London restaurants to dine in when you’re traveling with a larger group.

2 glasses of red wine at a table

Dishoom

Don’t let the fact that this is a chain dissuade you: Dishoom is one of the most beloved restaurants, and for good reason. There are multiple locations in London, and it offers some of the best Indian food in the entire city. Dishoom is known for its epically delicious Indian fare, trendy setting, and well-decorated interior. Not to mention, their cocktails and mocktails are super tasty, too. The Black Daal is a personal favorite and a favorite of many who come to visit.

For larger groups of six or more dining at Dishoom, you can make a booking.

Temper Covent Garden

Temper Covent Garden is made for group dining and accommodates parties of up to 24(!) people. So, if you’re with a huge group of friends, family, or a big group of work colleagues, this is an excellent spot upon which to descend. You can also rent out the entire downstairs section of the restaurant for up to 55 guests in your party.

This spot is known for its hearty BBQ meats, yummy steak, pizza, and tacos—basically, a menu full of crowd pleasers.

Berners Tavern

If you’re going for regal vibes, head to Berners Tavern to enjoy its baroque ballroom, which includes a stunning gilded chandelier. It’s been called one of the “grandest dining rooms in London,” and it’s easy to see why once you’ve stepped foot inside. The ornate ceiling is perfect for ogling, as is the gorgeous, framed artwork adorning the walls. If you’re looking for a more intimate setting, you can rent out the private dining spaces for your group.

Blues Kitchen

Like Dishoom, Blues Kitchen is another beloved crowd-pleaser with delicious foods bound to make you feel full and satisfied. At this BBQ bar and restaurant (which has several different locations), you’ll get all the vibes of a fun night out, along with a delicious meal. In the Brixton brand of the restaurant, the large booths can seat up to eight guests, and there’s also a private dining room available to book.

The restaurant offers party platters which can be shared and include plates heaped with buffalo wings, veggies, BBQ pork ribs, dips, fries, and more. Blues Kitchen also hosts live music, adding to the atmosphere of celebration and an all-around good time. If your group is made up of mostly Americans, they will feel at home in Blues Kitchen.

Caravan Fitzrovia’s Record Room

Not far off Oxford Street in Central London, you’ll find the neighborhood of Fitzrovia, which has some restaurant gems to explore, like Caravan Fitzrovia’s Record Room. At this memorable spot, you’ll be dining in a former BBC Radio 1 recording studio! This offers truly an incredible experience and a historic one, too. This restaurant’s design pays homage to its broadcasting and musical roots. The location can accommodate up to 40 people for a seated dinner, and for larger groups, they accommodate even more for drinks and appetizers.
