Yes, the portion of the tour that ascends the tower is at the very end, so you are welcome to leave the tour prior to the climb if you chose to.
The minimum age to climb the Palazzo Vecchio tower is 6 years old, per the official rules set by the museum. We cannot make any exceptions to this, but children younger than 6 are welcome to join the tour up until that point, as the tower climb is at the very end of the tour.
Additionally, anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult on the tour.
Bulky bags and backpacks are not allowed inside Palazzo Vecchio. You are welcome to leave bags at our office where a member of our staff will keep a watchful eye over them, but please note that this tour will end at Palazzo Vecchio, which is a five minute's walk from our office.
No, Michelangelo's David is located inside the Accademia Gallery. There is a replica statue of David located just outside the entrance to Palazzo Vecchio.
