Berlin is world famous for its nightlife scene, especially weekend-long benders. If your nights (or days) of ragers are behind you, don’t fret. There are plenty of sophisticated or laid back drinking holes in the city where you can enjoy a cocktail or two and still be in bed before the sun rises.

Here are 15 places to get cocktails in Berlin if you’re not a club kid anymore from places that are well-known for craft cocktails to themed bars. Memorable drinks are waiting for you at unique places across the city.

If you’re after a sexy ambiance, look no further than Madame Claude.

Madame Claude is a kitschy pub for “common people” located in what was once a brothel operated by the Fernande Grudet. The place is a real trip as the apartment is upside down with furniture and other items placed on the ceiling!

Looking for an Instagrammable drink? Get a drink at Sundays in August.

Sundays in August is a laid-back spot for day drinking if you enjoy shabby chic decor and unique drinks, such as the horse’s neck whiskey cocktail or prince tequila cocktail. There are smoking and non-smoking areas, so choose your seat wisely and enjoy the hipster Berlinesque vibes of this spot.

Buck and Breck is a little speakeasy with some of the most highly sought after crafted cocktails in Berlin. The sign outside always says CLOSED, but those in the know walk right in.

Ora is a beautiful converted traditional Oranien-Apotheke apothecary. The upscale cocktail lounge has a romantic candle-lit atmosphere. Bartenders here make a mean Old Fashion.

Looking for a place with an unarguably Berlin flavor? Head this way.

Geist im Glas is an intimate candle-lit cocktail bar that has an unapologetically Berlin vibe with the industrial decor and excellent boozy drinks like the melon pepper concoction.

If you believe a drink a day keeps the doctor away go to the Pharmacy Bar.

The Pharmacy Bar is a traditional Apotheken that tributes the heritage of cocktail making originating at pharmacies. The bartenders may not be able to cure you, but you’ll probably have a good enough time to forget your troubles and lift your spirit with some tasty spirits.

At Limonadier Cocktailbar, an array of ingredients come together to create memorable cocktails. Herbs and flowers take the drinks to the next level. If you’re an early bird, don’t miss the daily happy hour from 6-8 pm.

Drink with locals at Mr. Susan.

Mr. Susan is the spot for outstanding innovative cocktails in Berlin. The beautiful decor alone is worth the visit, but stay for the Asian-fusion cuisine and cocktails such as the Kimchi Michelada.

Step into a time warp and go back in time at Stagger Lee Cocktail Bar.

Stagger Lee Cocktail Bar is one of the best places in Berlin to enjoy high-quality drinks in a vintage ambiance. Some of the fine cocktails whipped up here include Negronis and Manhattans.

Take your drink on the wild side at Monkey Bar.

The Monkey Bar is on the top floor of the Bikini Zoo Hotel and overlooks the monkey house at Berlin Zoo. Enjoy your cocktail while observing the apes and the panoramic view of Berlin.

For the bucket list touristic cocktail go to Bar 203.

For a must-do touristy experience in Berlin, take a drink at the cocktail bar in Berlin’s world-famous TV Tower, the FernsehturmBar 203 is the highest bar in Berlin at, you guessed it, 203 meters and boasts incredible sunset views. Be sure to reserve a seat in advance!

Fall down the rabbit hole at Fairytale Bar.

Fairytale Bar is an Alice and Wonderland-themed speakeasy that serves what might be the most photographed drink in all of Berlin as some of the cocktails are presented in glass slippers. They’ve also made the switch to paper straws. The Mad Hatter would surely approve.

If you’re down in the dumps, it’s time to drink at KLO.

KLO is a toilet-themed pub. Seriously, we’re not taking a piss! This lively bar is equipped with eclectic décor, including lots of old toilets. Luckily, the drinks they make don’t taste like sewage.

Cocktail aficionados should take a drink at Salut! Classic Bar.

Salut! Classic Bar is the spot to get a superb cocktail created with top-notch ingredients in a bar with a warm and welcoming ambiance. They even have cocktail courses if you want to learn the mixology of some of their signature drinks such as the Gin Basil Smash.
