Paris Concerts in Spring/Summer 2015

Paris is an international hub of culture and art in all its genres, so it’s no surprise that it has a thriving music scene, with musicians from all over the world queuing up to play in the City of Light. If you’re on the tour bus, or just thinking about adding some music to your trip, here is our selection of concerts coming up in spring/summer 2015…

Your Paris Soundtrack!

Big Stars

No matter your taste, there is no shortage of internationally-famous singers and groups coming to Paris this spring/summer.

Although he’s recently been seen more on the silver screen (in The Hunger Games), Lenny Kravitz hasn’t given up on his music career. The 90s icon and four-time Grammy winner will be performing in Paris for one night only on June 30. Another music legend, Neil Diamond, will be arriving a few days later on June 23 as part of his Melody Road world tour.

Do we even need to explain who The Who are? Probably not! They’ll be filling up the Zénith concert hall on June 28 and 29. Before them, Maroon Five will be at the same venue on May 24th.

For younger music fans, Ariana Grande, Sam Smith and 5 Seconds of Summer will also be passing through Paris in May and June – although tickets will probably sell out in seconds!

Classic

Do you love classical music? Somehow the scenery of Paris perfectly suits the sound of strings and trembling tenors. For opera addicts, you’ll not want to miss out on “Everyone to the opera!” on May 9th, when Paris’ opera houses are opening their doors to the general public. An evening that also comes highly recommended is a night at the Sainte Chapelle, where they often host classical concerts under the stained glass windows. If you’re visiting the chapel in the daytime, we recommend you book a skip the line tour, which also includes a visit around Notre Dame, so you won’t waste any time waiting in queues.

Festivals

With the sunshine come Paris’ most popular music festivals. Solidays is a 3-day charity festival in support of Aids awareness that takes place from June 26 – 28. Over 150,000 people come to party and have fun in the sun for a good cause

One month after Solidays, Rock en Seine is – as the title would suggest – a more rock-focussed festival, with even bigger artists. This year Hot Chip, The Offspring and The Libertines are just a few of the bands signed up to perform. Jazz fans will be excited to hear about the ten-day Jazz Festival in Saint Germain des Près from May 21 – June 1.

Unusual

For a concert with a twist, why not check out the Nuit de l’improvisation (Night of improvisation) at the Chatelet Theater on June 7. Alternatively, the spectacular annual Open Air Concert with fireworks and music is being held at the Chateau de Versailles on June 10.
