New Restaurants in Paris

The ‘City of Light’ is also the city of fine dining, where Parisians pride themselves on the variety on quality eateries. The blend of different cultures has resulted in a delicious fusion of culinary influences, and there seems to always be a new restaurant on everybody’s lips. With that in mind, we’ve put together a list of 2014’s hot new arrivals!

New Restaurants in Paris, 2014

La Route de la Soie
20 rue Scheffer, 75116
www.resto-routedelasoie.fr/

Speaking of international influence, La Route de la Soie is a contemporary Japonese restaurant that opened back in March 2014. But forget your local takeaway, La Route de la Soie has a delicious menu featuring, for example, marinated Yellow Tail carpaccio, grilled cod in a miso sauce and traditional Kobe beef. Inside, the decoration is simple and elegant, and all according to feng shui! The location is great too – just a short walk away from Trocadero.

LiLi
19 Avenue Kléber, 75016

Another new Asian restaurant, also in the 16th arrondissement, is LiLi, a super chic Cantonese eatery at the luxury Peninsula Hotel. On the menu you’ll find mouth-watering options such as lobster-stuffed caviar-dressed dim-sum! The venue is predictably opulent. Prices might be towards the higher end, but reviews say the food is truly delicious.

Victoria 1836
12 Rue de Presbourg, 75116

Probably the most well-located restaurant on this list, Victoria 1836 (previously L’Arc) sits at the top of the Champs Elysées, and has just reopened after being burnt down by a fire. With entrées coming in at just under 30 euro, this is a real treat. But with lobster, foie gras and black truffle just a few of the ingredients, the high prices are hardly unexpected. Will you be one of the first VIPs to try it out?

Guy Savoy
18 Rue Troyon, 75017
www.guysavoy.com

Opening on October 25 (after several delays) is the Guy Savoy restaurant at the Monnaie de Paris. Who’s Guy Savoy? He’s only a multiple Michelin-starred chef with restaurants around the world! And the Monnaie de Paris? It’s Paris oldest institution, responsible for the production of coins and medals. If you’ve been to Paris before, you will probably have seen it without realizing: stretched along the banks of the Seine opposite Pont Neuf. This is French gastronomy at its finest…

Dessance
74 rue des archives, 75003
www.dessance.fr

Have you got a sweet tooth? Then you simply have to check out Dessance. Opened earlier this year, Dessance is a ‘concept’ restaurant: desserts only (although there are savory options if you really want). Watch the chef create his masterpieces in the open kitchen space. There’s a popular 41 euro 5-course tasting menu, with each plate accompanied by a different glass of wine, juice or whisky.

After your meal, we highly recommend a stroll along the riverbanks to see the Eiffel Tower light up and sparkle (on the hour every hour from sundown). Or, you could go on a Skip the Line Eiffel Tower Tour before heading off for a candlelit dinner!
