Munich is like a fairy tale Christmas coming alive. Adding to this charm are Munich's famous Christmas markets where you can find handmade crafts, wood carvings, baked goods, hot drinks and the famous mulled wine (Glühwein) - not to mention Christmas merriment. As you feast your senses on the sights, smells, and tastes of the Christmas markets, we’ll explain the history of the markets as well as many of the buildings of the Old Town.
We’ll begin at our shop where we’ll sample some mulled wine (Glühwein). Restrooms and wifi are available in our shop. Afterwards we’ll take the metro to begin exploring the Christmas markets. We’ll spend about 20 minutes in each of four markets so you will have a great overview and chance to explore. Also, you’ll experience the Old Town as we stroll from market to market. Beyond the markets, this tour is a great way to get an orientation to Munich.
At the final market we visit near the old town center you will be free to spend as much time as you like, go back to areas we explored, or continue adventuring on your own.
Our shop is just off Karlsplatz 4 (Stachus), the bustling square between the Main Train Station (Hauptbahnhof) and Marienplatz. At the Karlsplatz fountain with your back to Karlstor and the pedestrian shopping street, turn right along Sonnenstrasse. After 50 meters, you will see our shop in the courtyard of Karlsplatz 4, on the right-hand side. The closest metro station is Karlsplatz (Stachus).
We meet for this tour at our shop in the courtyard of Karlsplatz 4. Entering “Karlsplatz 4” into your phone’s map will take you directly to us.
Alternatively, directions to our shop are as follows: At the Karlsplatz / Stachus square, with your back to the old city gate, walk to your right along the boulevard with the tram tracks (so away from McDonald’s). After 50 meters along that road you will see our shop on the right-hand side in the courtyard of Karlsplatz 4. The Sixt car rental is in our same courtyard.
First and foremost it’s our guides. They love the city in which they live and look forward to showing you all the unique facets of Munich. They are well-traveled and have been guiding for many years, not to mention masters of group dynamics. They know hidden pockets of Munich that will help make the tour truly memorable.
Secondarily, we pride ourselves on our customer service. We’re here to answer any questions you may have. We want your trip to Munich to be as effortless as possible. We of course also have our satisfaction guarantee, so if for any reason you’re not completely satisfied you get a hassle-free refund.
We strongly recommend dressing appropriately and bringing an umbrella, as our tours take place in all weather. We understand your time here is limited and we aim to show you the best Christmas markets regardless of weather. That said, please, dress warmly! Better to bring too many layers than too few.
We offer 100% refunds on all tours if the reservation is cancelled more than 72 hours (3 days) before the scheduled tour. We do not offer refunds for any reason once we are within 72 hours of the scheduled tour.
