Discontinued: Best of Paris Bike Tour

We're sorry, this tour is no longer available.

The 'must-sees' of Paris just became easier to check off your list! The only way to truly appreciate Paris in a day is by bike, and we think that this tour has it all. Let us maximize your time by minimizing the fuss and covering more ground on two wheels than you ever could on foot.

While we have been perfecting our Paris Day Bike Tour since 1999, our newly announced Best of Paris Bike Tour is a more comprehensive tour of Paris, with more stops and riding over the course of approximately 7 hours. Starting at our office near the Eiffel Tower, we'll make our way into the heart of Paris via the beautiful Luxembourg gardens. We'll cycle through the heart of the Latin Quarter and stop at Notre Dame for a tour of the interior of the Cathedral (not including the bell towers). We'll continue on to the right bank of Paris to explore the Hotel de Ville and stop to pick up sandwiches at a bakery that has recently been awarded the title of Paris' best baguette (please note that the cost of lunch is not included).

After a picnic lunch near the Tuileries gardens, we'll allow you about 1.5-2 hours inside of the Louvre to discover the highlights on your own. Your guide will provide you with tips and tricks to get the most out of the museum and still have time to discover more of Paris in one day. The afternoon will be filled with more bike riding, including seeing Place de la Concorde, the Alexandre III bridge, the Grand & Petit Palais, and of course, the star of Paris, the Eiffel Tower. Our expert local guide will provide you with all of the background knowledge and entertaining stories you'll need about Paris so that you can get the most out of a short amount of time.

    Notre Dame Interior Visit

Due to the devastating April 15th 2019 fire at Notre Dame Cathedral, this tour will not include Notre Dame entry until further notice. If you have any questions, please contact our customer service team.

Your tour guide will give explain the history of Notre Dame from the exterior, and then enter the cathedral with you. While inside of the church, we will keep our talking to a minimum to be respectful to those there for its intended purpose and to give you time to discover this beautiful piece of gothic architecture on your own. Your guide will be happy to answer any questions you have about Notre Dame before or after the interior visit! Please note that ascending the bell towers is not included on this tour.

    Skip the Line Louvre Visit

Your guide will not enter the museum with you, and your Skip the Line ticket does not ensure a quicker passage through security and it does not include a guided tour. Your will have approximately 1.5-2 hours to explore the inside of the Louvre on your own, depending on how much time you would like to spend enjoying your lunch. One could spend days walking the long corridors of this popular museum, but your guide will make it easy for you to see the highlights or focus on the type of art that interests you most.

  • Expand/Collapse What cycling skill level do I need for this tour?

While all of our tours maintain a leisurely pace, we want our guests to have fun and be safe, so being able to ride a bike is paramount.

Our Best of Paris Night Bike Tour is perfect for intermediate-athletic bike riders. You should have good balance, be able to start and stop comfortably, and be familiar with hand brakes. Most of this tour is on roads and we vary between single-file & group riding. Safety is our number one priority but confidence in yourself is the first step to overall group safety.

If you're not sure how you'll fare, we invite you to try our Paris Night Bike tour first.

  • Expand/Collapse Is this tour appropriate for children?

For many kids, yes! We will be riding in the streets on this tour more than on our other tours, but if your children are confident riders, then we would love to have them ride along with us. We only ask that your children have been riding for a while, or, if they're under 12, you can reserve a tandem for them.

You can use this bike chart to help you reserve the appropriate bicycles for your little ones. Please keep in mind that children under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult on the tour.

    • For children up to 10 years old or weighing under 32kg (70lbs), we have two-wheeled tag-along tandems. The child passenger sits on a seat and can pedal or coast. All riders weighing over 32kg (70lbs) must ride their own bicycle. This is not an option for adults or anyone over the weight or age limit.
    • We have various sized city bikes to accommodate just about every size of rider, from extra small 20 inch wheeled bikes for riders that are 3.3ft (100cm) to extra large for riders up to 6.5ft (198cm).
    • Unfortunately, we do not have adult tricycles, adult tandems, or bikes with training wheels for adults or children that may be less confident in their riding ability.
    • There is no additional charge for trailers, tandems or baby seats. Due to limited availability, please book baby seats, trailers, tandems, 20” and 24” wheeled bikes in advance.
    • Please Note: All extra small 20 inch and small 24 inch bikes are equipped with hand brakes.
    • Our city tours are very casual, with only slight elevation changes on varying surfaces including smooth gravel and pavement. It is necessary, however, that any person participating in our bike tours have at least some bike riding experience, and should be comfortable riding in a group.
  • Expand/Collapse What is the difference between the Best of Paris Bike Tour and the Paris Day Bike Tour?

The routes, information, and duration of these tours greatly differ!

We've been perfecting our Paris Day Bike Tour since 1999 and it is a fabulous introduction to Paris. It is approximately 3-3.5 hours long and the goal is to provide you with the perfect orientation to the city while hearing lots of interesting facts. We often hear comments like "Wow, I'm so glad I took this because now I know what I'm going to do the next few days while I'm in the city" from customers who take this tour.

The Paris Day Bike Tour is great for riders of all skills, as it has a more leisurely pace and stays mostly on bike paths and sidewalks. Although for any tour, it is necessary to be comfortable riding a bike.

Our Best of Paris Bike Tour is a more comprehensive tour of Paris, with more stops and riding over the course of approximately 7 hours. It is truly the best way to see the highlights of Paris in a day! This tour is faster paced and involves riding in more street traffic than our Paris Day Bike Tour. Safety is our highest priority for all guests and we customize our routes with this in mind, but we suggest this tour for more confident riders.

One of the most exciting differences between these tours, is that our Best of Paris Bike Tour includes skip the line entrance into the Louvre Museum, and an interior visit inside Notre Dame! While the time constraint of our Day Bike Tour doesn't allow us to visit the inside of museums or monuments, this tour has the advantage of taking the time to park our bikes and go inside, truly enhancing your ride around Paris with us.
