Private Berlin Wall Bike Tour

Private Berlin Wall Bike Tour

We head away from the Mitte district and the pedestrian Cold War sights to take in more of the former East, more of the Wall, and more of what makes Berlin the unique city it is today. On our Private Berlin Wall Bike Tour you will visit the Berlin Wall Memorial, see a former watchtower, visit the land once known as the no-man's land, see where the East German Secret Police kept their secret files, and learn about escape attempts in the places they took place.

To put the Cold War into perspective we’ll timeline other important worldwide events to show how these effectively put Berlin at the forefront of Cold War tension. This is a great opportunity to ask your guide more questions about the Cold War or the Berlin of today.

A short stop for refreshments is included in the tour, but the cost of the meal is not. Please bring Euro cash or Maestro/EC card. Many establishments in Berlin do not accept credit cards.

  • Expand/Collapse Is this tour appropriate for kids?

Our tours are great options for families and kids are very welcome.  We have several types of kids’ bikes, seats, and helmets to make sure everyone of all sizes is comfortable on tour.  Our Berlin Wall Bike Tour does cover some difficult subjects, so please judge if your kids are going to be interested and able to digest the info.

  • Expand/Collapse What if I haven't ridden a bike in a while?

Don’t worry, it’s just like riding a bike!  Our tours move at a very comfortable pace so don’t worry if you are a bit rusty.  If you are worried about being comfortable on the bike, feel free to stop by the shop a bit early and you can take a few practice laps.

  • Expand/Collapse What happens if it rains?

The tour will still run in case of rain.  We try our best to take cover but sometimes we are exposed to the elements.  We have pocket-sized rain ponchos that we provide for free to all of our private tour guests.

  • Expand/Collapse Do we go inside the museums and monuments?

We cannot enter the monuments because German Law restricts museum guides to their authorized officials. Plus, some people would want to spend only ten minutes in the museum while others would prefer 3 hours.

Our private tour guests benefit from free bike rentals for the remainder of the day following the tour.  Our staff will be happy to show you exactly how to go back to any sites you would like to explore further or visit the interior.

  • Expand/Collapse Can I combine this tour with other tours?

Of course!  In fact, our tours make great compliments for each other.  If you want to include a specific site on this tour that's not mentioned in the description, or if you're curious about package deals, just reach out to us at [email protected]
