We are two not too fit, not too intrepid Kiwis, who travelled to Europe last year, on what we thought was a once in a lifetime trip. During that time we did a bike tour of Barcelona with Fat Tire Tours. We had a great time, learned heaps and really enjoyed the professional friendly service. We also saw a Segway Tour in one of the cities, and thought “we just have to give that a try if we get the chance”.
Well, the stars lined up and it turned out we came to Europe again this year. This time travelling with friends for part of the time. When planning our trip together, we were determined to do a Segway trip. When we saw the Fat Tire Tours offered one, we were delighted, as we knew we could rely on the service- a real consideration for us planning from the other side of the world.
Anyway, now four kiwis in the party with varying coordination skills. The teaching we got was great and helped us be confident straight off. Claudia our guide was patient, and passionate about sharing the sights and history. We had some great people on the tour too. We felt we got real insights into what we were seeing, not just a “blurb”. And Segways are fun! Not just for the young, and a great way to cover quite an area in a shortish time. They did seem to bring out the “boy racer” tendencies in our menfolk….but no harm was done – thanks Claudia!
Altogether a real highlight of our trip. Just sad we couldn’t get onto any of the other tours offered due to full bookings. If we get the chance we will be Segway-ing/biking and booking with Fat Tire Tours again.
