    • Expand/Collapse Where is the tour meeting point?

      All of our tours have specific meeting locations and times. After making a reservation you will receive a tour confirmation email that outlines all of the important details including meeting point, so please review this thoroughly.

      All but one of our Segway tours begin at our office, located at 757 Beach Street at Hyde Street, San Francisco, CA 94109. We are located in the rear parking lot behind the art gallery.  The Hyde Street Cable Car turn around is across the street, and the Wells Fargo Bank ATM is at the entrance to our driveway. 

      Our Segway Experience Tour departs from a location within the Golden Gate Park.  You can find us at 82 Hagiwara Tea Garden Drive, San Francisco, CA 94118.  Look for the blue & yellow tent in the paved area directly behind the large band stage in the Music Concource. We are right next to the Japanese Tea Garden. 


    • Expand/Collapse Is parking available near the office?

      Yes, there is a parking garage in the Anchorage Square Shopping Center (the building in which we're located). Please note the entrance to the garage (500 Beach St) is slightly different than our office address (333 Jefferson St, Suite 123), but we are in the same building. Street parking is also available in the area, but is subject to meter fees, time limits, and restricted hours. 

    • Expand/Collapse What's your cancellation policy?

      Cancellations & Refunds 

      We are happy to offer free changes and 100% refunds up to 24 hours before tour departure. Failure to cancel a reservation at least 24 hours prior to scheduled depature may result in forfeited travel funds. Fare difference may apply for activity or schedule changes. Activities including tickets or special entrances may require further notice to be eligible for a full refund. Please see below for specific policies.

      Changes & Rescheduling

      We are happy to modify or change your reservation up to one hour before your activity start time without any rescheduling fees. Any changes are subject to availability, and difference in activity prices may apply.

      Within one hour of the activity start time we likely will not be able to rebook or reschedule your booking, however, please contact our customer support staff directly and we will do our best to accommodate you.

      *Special Restrictions & Exceptions

      Please note the following exceptions to our standard cancellation and rebooking policies in San Francisco:

      • “Fat Tire Approved” activities are operated by partner companies with specific rebooking policies. Please see the “refunds” section of any Fat Tire Approved activity for specific rebooking and rescheduling restrictions. Fat Tire Approved tours can be identified by a red banner towards the top of the tour page.
      • Private Tours must be cancelled or rebooked at least 7 days in advance of the activity start time. Reschedulings are subject to availability.

    • Expand/Collapse Can minors come on tour alone?

      All minors (anyone under the age of 18) must be accompanied by an adult on the tour.

    • Expand/Collapse Are reservations required?

      Yes, reservations are required for every tour we offer.

      Walk-up customers will be accommodated in the best possible manner based on guide and Segway availability. Our tours fill to capacity on a regular basis. For this reason we highly suggest making a reservation online or contacting us directly to make a reservation. We don't want to fill our tour and miss showing you around!

    • Expand/Collapse What time do I need to get there for my tour?

      Your tour will start promptly at the scheduled time, therefore please arrive 15 minutes prior to tourdeparture time in order to complete the necessary paperwork. Please be aware that we have multiple tours departing throughout the day, therefore if you arrive more than 30 minutes early we may still be working with other guests and not quite ready to welcome you properly. Each member of your party will be required to complete and sign a liability waiver form. Minors under the age of 18 will need a parent or guardian to complete their paperwork.

    • Expand/Collapse Are your tours offered in any languages other than English?

      Our public tours are offered only in English at this time.

    • Expand/Collapse What is your weather policy?

      Our tours operate rain or shine. We have ponchos available for purchase in our office for $1 and are happy to refund the price if it is unopened and unused.

    • Expand/Collapse How big will my group be?

      Our Segway tours operate in groups of 8 guests.

      If the party is larger than 8 the group will be split between two guides in consideration of city law. We can take larger groups as private tours; however those are subject to different pricing and plans and must be made in advance to make allowances for tour guides and machines.

    • Expand/Collapse Will I need to put down a deposit?

      We do not take a deposit, though we do ask one member of your party to provide us with a credit card to save on file while you are on tour. Your card will not be charged unless there is damage caused to the Segway and card information will be deleted immediately upon completion of a damage-free tour.

    • Expand/Collapse I've never ridden a Segway before; will I be able to pick it up quickly?

      Your safety is always our highest priority; therefore, we begin each tour with a very thorough orientation of the Segway and its use before going out to enjoy the city!

    • Expand/Collapse Is there an age or weight limit?

      For your riding safety, guests must be at least 12 years of age and weigh at least 100 pounds and not in excess of 260 pounds. Here in San Francisco we have to stick very strictly to our minimum weight of 100 pounds, as anyone under that weight runs the risk of having the Segway respond improperly on the (small) hills encountered on tour.

    • Expand/Collapse If I am pregnant can I join the tour?

      Unfortunately, due to the risk to both child and mother, pregnant women are not allowed to participate on our Segway Tours.

    • Expand/Collapse Are the Segways safe for people with disabilities?

      We have had several people with disabilities join our tours. The necessary range of motion required to operate a Segway is similar to that of being able to transfer weight from one foot to another while walking. Also, riding a Segway does require the need to be able to stand for long periods of time. Each of our tours begins with a short safety video followed by time to practice in our training area across the street and instruction from your tour guide. We will practice on the Segways until everyone feels comfortable.

    • Expand/Collapse Can I rent a Segway without a guide?

      Unfortunately we do not rent our Segways out to individuals without a guide.

    • Expand/Collapse How much is a private tour?

      All of our private tour requests are individually analyzed by our private tours department, and quotes are given based on a number of factors including tour guide availability, booking time, season, Segway availability, and group size. Custom-built tours or smaller private group tours will usually cost more than our public tours given the planning time, any special requirements or requests our guests may have, and the privatization of one or a few of our tour guides.

    • Expand/Collapse What’s included on a customized private tour?

      Almost anything you’d like! We will include all necessary equipment and a knowledgeable guide. Lunch/dinner is usually not included unless specified.

    • Expand/Collapse What if my party is more than 8 people?

      Though our typical public Segway tours have only eight guests per tour guide, a small group private tour puts you in charge and allows you to enjoy the city just the way you want to see it. We can take larger groups as private tours but please note that accomodating larger groups are subject to different pricing and plans and must be made in advance to make allowances for tour guides and machines.
