Berlin City Bike Tour

Experience Popular Berlin Sites with Our City Bike Tour

This full day tour is a great way to take in the best of what Berlin has to offer! We’ve been perfecting our Berlin City Bike Tour for more than ten years, and we think it’s one of the best tours in town.

This tour has it all! Not only will you see all of the main sites, but we will take you out of the city center and show you the real Berlin. If you’ve never been to Berlin before, this is the perfect way to familiarize yourself with the city. And if you’re a Berlin veteran, we bet you will still learn something new and appreciate the city even more.

Berlin has a long and complex history, and our aim is to help you better understand it, all while enjoying the bikes and having fun.  Over six hours, we will cover more than 800 years of Berlin’s history, from with humble beginnings as a fishing village, to the dynamic capital of reunited Germany.

We will spend our day crossing between former East and West Berlin, seeing the East Side Gallery and Checkpoint Charlie along the way. Find out how Berlin became the focal point of the Cold War, and how the Berlin Wall was built, cutting the city in two. We will visit the site of Hitler’s Bunker and the Reichstag and discuss the legacy of the Third Reich on modern Berlin.

We will bike through the Tiergarten and stop at one of our favorite beer gardens along the way. Finally, we will show you through the Brandenburg Gate, stopping at the well-known Museum Island before circling back to our starting point at the TV Tower in Alexanderplatz.

Throughout this full day tour you will have plenty of time to ask your guide questions, mingle with your group, take pictures, and find out the best way to take advantage of the magic of Berlin. Our enthusiastic guides are always keen to share their knowledge and point you towards the best currywurst, late-night club, art gallery or German beer.

As with all of our other tours, our Berlin City Bike Tour travels at an easy pace on our comfortable city-cruiser style bicycles. This tour is an excellent way to get oriented with the city, and we’re sure you’ll come away from it with new knowledge and a love of Berlin!

  • Expand/Collapse Are reservations required for this tour?

Reservations are recommended, but not required.  We suggest that you book in advance so that you are guaranteed a spot on the tour, and also to help us better plan for the day of your tour.  If you do not have a reservation don’t worry, just come on by our shop and we will get you on tour, provided that there is space.

  • Expand/Collapse What do I need to bring with me on tour?

Be sure to bring your camera and some cash for the lunch break.  We also recommend that you bring an extra layer of clothing in case it gets chilly during the tour.  There are luggage racks on our bikes so you can easily carry some small items with you.

  • Expand/Collapse What if I haven’t ridden a bike in a while?

Don’t worry, it’s just like riding a bike!  Our tours move at a very comfortable pace so don’t worry if you are a bit rusty.  If you are worried about being comfortable on the bike, feel free to stop by the shop a bit early and you can take a few practice laps.

  • Expand/Collapse What happens if it rains?

The tour will still run in case of rain.  We try our best to take cover but sometimes we are exposed to the elements.  We have pocket-sized rain ponchos for sale in our shop and we highly recommend that you purchase one before tour.  If you don’t use it, we will buy it back from you- it’s a bit of a rain insurance policy!

  • Expand/Collapse Do we go inside the museums and monuments?

We cannot enter the monuments because German Law restricts museum guides to their authorized officials. Plus, some people would want to spend only ten minutes in the museum while others would prefer 3 hours.

TIP: Should you want to keep your bike longer, and many people do, you get a discount on rental following a tour.  Our staff will be happy to show you exactly how to go back to any sites you would like to explore further or visit the interior.
