Yes, from November to March we will run tours on a reduced schedule at 11am from Thursdays to Mondays, inclusive. Please see the tour page for full details.

  • Expand/Collapse Is the tour difficult?

No. Most of the time is spent on bike lanes within the Royal Parks. There is a bit of road riding and a few crossings so a basic level of cycling proficiency is required.

  • Expand/Collapse What is your weather policy?

We run tours rain or shine and have plenty of rain ponchos. We find tours in the rain to be a different kind of fun and an even more fun memory! If you have a reservation and the weather is really bad, you are welcome to reschedule the tour for any other day for up to year.

Both tours finish at the same place they start.

Yes. There will be a chance to take many photos at the designated stops.

    Absolutely.

  • Expand/Collapse Can I supply my own bike?

You are welcome to bring your own bicycle and will receive a discount of 10%. Our insurance only covers the theft of our own bicycles, so please do bring your own lock for the lunch stop.

  • Expand/Collapse Do you have children's bikes?

Yes. We have kids bikes, tag-alongs and baby seats. Please make a reservation online if you have children in your group and let us know how many are with you, and their ages, in the NOTES section of your reservation - this way we can make sure we have the right sized bikes set aside for everyone in your group.

  • Expand/Collapse Is this tour appropriate for children?

Absolutely! We have loads of families and we're a great family activity. We offer multiple bike options for children depending on their age, size, and riding ability. Please keep in mind that children under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult on the tour.

    • For children up to 12 years old or 45kg (100lbs) without good bike handling skills we offer 2-wheeled tandems that allow the passenger to pedal or coast, without having to maintain a high level of balance. All riders over 45kg (100lbs) must ride their own bicycle. We have various sized city bikes to accommodate just about every size of rider, from extra small 20 inch wheeled bikes for riders that are 3.3ft (100cm) to extra large for riders up to 6.5ft (198cm). Unfortunately, we do not have adult tricycles, adult tandems, or bikes with training wheels for adults or children that may be less confident in their riding ability.
    • There is no additional charge for trailers, tandems or baby seats. Due to limited availability, please book baby seats, trailers, tandems, 20” and 24” wheeled bikes in advance.
    • Please Note: All extra small 20 inch and small 24 inch bikes are equipped with both hand brakes.
    • Our city tours are very casual, with only slight elevation changes on varying surfaces including smooth gravel and pavement. It is necessary, however, that any person participating in our bike tours have at least some bike riding experience, and should be comfortable riding in a group.

Royal London Bike Tour Reviews

Royal London Bike Tour - 11AM is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 329.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best way to explore London! We had a blast. If you're active this is a casual bike ride. If you're not active this is still doable and tons of fun. You see the sites, can take photos, learn about the city and meet other travelers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highlight of our Trip! The best way to see the majority of London’s landmarks in the quickest amount of time. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy ride with a great overall tour of London This was our second tour with Fat Tire. Paul, our guide, was informative, friendly and humorous. Our group was small which made for much easier navigation around London. Our only complaint was that we were only allowed just under 30 minutes for lunch which is nearly impossible in London. Needless to say a pint of beer and off we went. Nonetheless this is a great way to see a lot of and become familiar with London.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic family activity I did the royal london bike tour with my husband, our two daughters (3 & 5) and my sister-in-law on our first full day in London. It was a great way to introduce the city to our girls. The tag along bikes worked a treat. Everyone had a fantastic time. Our guide Gerard did a great job of engaging with our girls.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great overview of London and it's gems! Dominic did a great job, with great information and an iteresting route that took us by Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and other sites. A great way to get a feel for the city before diving in more deeply to the areas you want to visit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for first timers to London The day in the park is what this should be called. We hardly rode through London just one massive park with a lunch break in the middle that was long enough for a sandwich.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Tour. Got to see and learn so much. I had wandered around some of the places we went on the tour earlier in the day, but seeing them with a guide and hearing all the stories made them much more memorable. Bike tour was nice to get a good feel for the layout of the city.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic way to see London! Having taken the Fat Tyre bike tour in Paris, I really wanted to try out the London tour. I'd highly recommend this tour for several reasons: -If you have a short time in the city and want to learn the most and see the most you can. -If you want a good intro to all you can see in the city. The tour gives you great ideas for which places you'd like to visit later. -If you like the idea of biking through St. James & Hyde Park. -If you want to see more than you could on a walking tour. Our whole group loved it. The tour guides on these tours always have some kind of great accent, fantastic knowledge of the sites, and some cheeky story to share that you wouldn't otherwise learn!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Experience Great experience and perspective to view London on a bike. I was warned that London traffic might not be ideal to do a bike tour but it turned out fine. I felt safe the entire time and we kept mostly to the park areas. Andrew knew the historically well and was patient with the group. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So much fun for the whole family! We decided on a bike tour as a way to orient to London and that was a great plan! The guide was very knowledgeable and not over the top like we have experienced in the past. I would highly recommend. In fact the bike tour was number 1 thing we did in london- all four of us agreed!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Enjoyable day My husband and I enjoyed the trip very much. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. It was a great "1st day trip" to then decide what sites to visit again. My only issue was that my bike was set on a high gear and I was exhausted mid-way through. The guide did adjust to a lower gear, but suggest all bikes be checked before departure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning, relaxing, amusing! After a long day of traveling and sitting in trains, cars and airplane seats the fat tire tour through the Royal Gardens on our first morning in London was a treat! Our guide Paul was a brilliant and charming leader of this bicycle pack. 4 hours passed by in no time, learning so much about London, its Royals and citizens and left a constant smile on our faces. A perfect start for newbies in this wonderful city.

Our young guide Sas who was eloquent, humorous and theatrical as he described the history of the iconic sites we visited added value to our tour

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic tour! I've lived in London for 2 years and decided to book this tour for myself and family visiting from the US. What a fantastic way to see London's highlights! So much better than sitting on a bus, or walking for miles on end. Our guide Andrew was terrific and I learned things about London that I didnt know, even after living here 2 years. Highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The only London bike tour you need to take! Mike and Sassan were by far the best tour guides I had during my week long trip in Europe. Mike was very knowledgeable about the city and made everything come alive while Sassan was super friendly, showed me around the city and was the best person I met during my stay in London. I would absolutely recommend this tour (both Mike and Sassan) and will likely do another tour when I come to London again!! Thanks!
