Flora moved to Berlin from Copenhagen in late 2012 after only visiting the city a few times. Moving here was a spontaneous decision, but it was love at first sight and she never looked back. Flora has lived in three different districts in Berlin, so she is even familiar with the western part of the city that most expats only know in theory! Georgette is a ‘Tuscan Texan’ blogger, freelance writer and digital marketing maven based in Florence, but originally hails from the land of breakfast tacos and the Alamo, aka San, Antonio Texas. Her work has appeared in Lonely Planet, Forbes and Luxos Magazine to name a few and when she’s not at her day job at Italy Magazine, you can find her everyday musings about life, food, artisans and bespoke travel via her popular blog ‘Girl in Florence.’ She admits to having a slight obsession with beagles. She loves the city of Florence not only for its rich, cultural history (cradle of the Renaissance) but also for its small, easy-to-navigate size and slow-paced lifestyle. The dynamic food culture and close-knit community has led her to believe that “home” is wherever you feel most like yourself.

Ryan is a born and bred native of the Washington, D.C. area, working in the city as a brand manager and freelance photographer. He’s lived in a few of the world’s other historical cities like Philadelphia and Paris, but D.C. always seemed to call him home. While in undergrad at George Washington University just a few blocks from the White House, he became a tour guide for Fat Tire Tours, and his love for D.C. deepened even more. He enjoys sharing stories and details behind D.C.’s most historic sites, but his fire really gets going when he can give visitors a taste of the local D.C. life, which he finds doesn’t get the attention it deserves being overshadowed by the city’s loud and raucous political scene.
Favorite D.C. attraction: The Jefferson Memorial
D.C. in three words: Passion. Powerful. Picturesque.
Favorite time of year in D.C.: The fall is my favorite time of year in general, and Washington D.C. wears autumn like the most stylish model on a magazine cover. The way the vibrant fall foliage frames D.C.'s towering monuments and memorials is downright gorgeous. Not to mention how the leaves make D.C.'s side streets and town homes even more enjoyable to walk through.
Don't leave D.C. without... venturing to a neighborhood nowhere near the National Mall.
